“Altered Code” is just such an example. This work was inspired by the ballet. As the ballerina is held effortlessly by the danseur as she pirouettes gracefully, so too, do the forms of “Altered Code” as they spin within the confines of their supporting forms. Like the ballet performers, each element in “Altered Code” is capable of independent motion, yet is interdependent on the overall structure and system of the sculpture in the same way dancers are dependent upon each other and the choreography.
